Ashwagandha - To help you with your zzzz's!

Ashwagandha is an evergreen shrub that grows in India, parts of Middle East and Africa. It is also more commonly known as Indian Ginseng. The name literally means horse-smell ("Ashwa" means horse and "gandha" means smell), but please don't scroll away just yet ;). 

People have used the roots and the fruits of this herb in traditional medicine since a long time. It is an important herb in Ayurvedic medicine, and is gaining a lot of  popularity in the West!

A tsp of the ground root powder can have neuro-protective and anti-inflammatory effects. It may help calm your nervous system thereby reducing stress and promoting a peaceful night's sleep!

Here is a calming sleep tonic for you! 

Ingredients
1 cup milk (vegan option: coconut or almond milk)
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp honey
1 tsp SpiceFix Ashwagandha root powder

Instructions
Heat milk in a pot
Add ashwagandha and mix
Turn off heat and let simmer for few min
When warm, add honey and serve with a drizzle of cinnamon
